What Headphones Does JackSepticEye Use As Of 2018?

Our research indicates that JackSepticEye is currently using the Philips X2/27 Fidelio Over Ear Headphones. Philips is one of the industry leaders when it comes to high quality headphones, and Jack seems very loyal to them – seeing as he chose these headphones as a direct upgrade from his previous headphones, the now discontinued Philips Fidelo X1s.

Seeing as the man does very little aside from play video games and create content, it makes sense that he would splurge to get such a nice pair of cans. These awesome open-back headphones provide a wide open soundscape that are ideal for commentating and being aware of your surroundings while you work.

They have a warm, clean, detailed sound with one of the highest frequency response ranges on the market. they’re a little bit on the heavier side, but the extra comfort strap counteracts this and makes them not-too noticable.

We think the primary reason he uses them however, is the comfort. The deluxe memory foam ear pads are huge and engineered with long-term comfort in mind. We’ve found many reviews where critics have boasted about their ability to wear them for 8 hours at a time without getting uncomfortable. Jack definitely takes advantage of this fact.

Finally, here’s a little dump of the technical stats if you’re a curious audiophile.

Specifications:

  • Frequency Response Range: 5Hz-40kHz
  • Impedance : 30 Ohms
  • Sensitivity: 100dB @ 1mW
  • Weight: .38kg or .83 lbs

What Other Headphones Has JackSepticEye Used In The Past?

If you’re looking for an older, more affordable model that passed Jack’s standard of quality, we’ve also done some digging to find out which headphones he’s used in the past.

We mentioned the discontinued X1’s, but what did he use before that?

A few years back, his go-to headphones were the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Studio Headphones.

Priced around $100 lower, the DT 990s are still an excellent choice, and were good enough to serve Jack for several years. As you can see the padding is of similar size, making them very comfortable, and they’re even a bit lighter than the other ones. The build quality is top notch, and the sound is very crisp and clean.

With these headphones continuing the trend, it is clear that JackSepticEye prefers open-backed headphones and their ability to allow ambient noises penetrate and create a wider soundscape.

Specifications:

  • Impedance: 250 ohms
  • Frequency Response Range: 5Hz-35kHz
  • Sensitivity: 96dB
  • Weight: .55 lbs

In Conclusion…

JackSepticEye has grown his channel from the ground up by putting in thousands and thousands of hours working hard at his computer every single day. If you plan on doing something similar, having the right tools for the job definitely helps, and that includes comfortable headphones.

They won’t turn you into Jack overnight, and we don’t think you necessarily need the headphones he wears, but because of his endorsement, we definitely feel like the Fidelios or Beyerdynamics are a worthy recommendation for any gamer, YouTuber, or video editor.
